About the Event

Culture as a tool or as a goal? Could culture be at the center of foreign policy? How can we use new technology to promote our values and what can we achieve by doing so? Is it all a branding tool or is it more than that? What is more important- marketing or building trust? Why is it essential to separate culture from politics and where do they have to come together?

We gathered to meet, to talk, to listen, and to discuss the challenges and opportunities of cultural diplomacy. Ambassadors, cultural figures, academics, and young researchers, discussed openly avenues for bringing people together through cultural diplomacy. The event was attended by nearly 70 guests and participants, each one bringing a unique and interesting perspective to the discussion.

We redefined the term "cultural diplomacy" and then broke it down, analyzed case studies, discussed future opportunities alongside challenges in the era of information sharing, and disagreed with many other definitions.

The event allowed us to listen, to exchange knowledge, to sharpen conclusions and to discuss new challenges for the future, to sharpen the connection between academia, culture, and diplomacy.

"Culture is much more than art; it is history, literature, identity".
